The association will also have a display at The Edible Garden festival at The Little Green Allotments on Whitemountain Road, all as a part of the allotments series of family events that day.

The display area will give locals an opportunity to enter a free raffle and let the association know about topics of interest for future events.

John Belshaw from the association said: “Everyone is welcome to take part in our first guided walk which will start and finish at The Little Green allotments.

“The walk will only be just over a mile round trip and last approximately an hour in total.

“Those that take part will hopefully see hidden aspects of our area including the national nature reserve at Belshaw’s Quarry on Benson’s Road.

“This time last year we launched our Tour the Townlands tourism and historical information leaflet on the whole area which in addition to our Limestone Way leaflet gives any visitor to the area an insight into aspects of the area that most in Lisburn probably don’t know exists.”
