Walk the three bridges for river rescue

LONDONDERRY Mayor Kevin Campbell wants people to walk the three bridges on Sunday, February 24, to raise money for Foyle Search and Rescue.

The Mayor said: “I would encourage as many people as possible to come along and take part in this event. Minimum entry fee is £5 and this money will go directly towards supporting our city’s unsung heroes who provide such an incredible voluntary service for the good of our citizens.

“Not only will participants will be supporting a very worthy cause but it’s a great opportunity to come along and have some fun whilst getting a bit of exercise and fresh air,” he stated.

The event is being supported by the Waterfoot Hotel and Estate Services. The walk will start at the Waterfoot Hotel at 11am and the route will go over the Foyle Bridge along Queen’s Quay.

From there the route will pass over the Peace Bridge and through Ebrington before onto the Craigavon Bridge, finishing at the Tourist Office. All proceeds raised go directly to the Foyle Search and Rescue.
