A 53-year-old man was fined £200 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on January 9 this year.
William Patrick McConville, Drumbeg, Craigavon, was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that around 6.45pm the at a routine stop on the Portadown Road, Lurgan, police spoke to the defendant and asked him to produce his insurance.
The following day McConville attended at Lurgan police station and produced insurance but it only covered him from that day and not on the day he was stopped.
McConville, who pleaded guilty himself in court, said it was a genuine mistake on his part.
He had no previous convictions.
