An exhibition of more than 30 wedding dresses is being held in Magheralin Parish Church from June 5-14.
‘Beyond the Veil’ features dresses worn by Lady Sylvia Hermon MP, BBC broadcaster Wendy Austen, Finance Minister Arlene Foster MLA and the bridesmaid’s dress worn by Enniskillen bomb victim Marie Wilson.
Also on display will be dresses made from cushions, patchwork, flowers, paper and wood.
Along with props and written explanations, the dresses will tell the story of women of the Bible in a very visual way. It provides insights into their lives and offers snapshots of the challenges, issues and disappointments which they encountered.
Their stories will tell of their remarkable resilience, strength and, above all, their very deep faith.
Admission is free, but the aim is to raise both awareness and funds for A21 – an anti human trafficking charity – and the church renovation fund.
The exhibition opens Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-10pm and Sundays from 2-8pm. Mid-week evening tours may also be booked online at www.magheralin.org.
