Window scheme will ‘help heat retention’

The start of a delayed window replacement scheme in three Carrick estates has been welcomed by East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson.

He said: “Delays are still being predicted for other schemes in East Antrim but I am pleased that the contractor will be going on site in Sunnylands and Castlemara before the July holidays and in Greenisland by August.

“The new windows and the buildup of the wooden fronts of some homes should help with heat retention and cut fuel bills all part of the Northern Ireland Executive’s strategy of cutting down fuel poverty which is three times higher in Northern Ireland than in England and causes many households to have to choose between food and heating.”
