A woman who bit her former partner on the shoulder as he was holding their young child was put on probation last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Samantha Robinson (23), Timakeel Grange, Portadown, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm on June 23 last year.
She was put on probation for 18 months.
The court heard that the injured party attended at Edward Street police station in Portadown saying he had been assaulted by his former partner.
He claimed that at around 2.15pm he took the defendant and their three-year-old daughter to the dentist.
Afterwards in the car Robinson became verbally abusive and told her ex-partner he was a waste of space and to drop dead.
She demanded that gifts she had given him should be returned and poked him in the face and the leg.
When he asked her to return a phone he had bought her she bit him on the shoulder through his clothing. He had his daughter in his arms at the time. He showed police grazing and bruising to his shoulder.
Robinson accepted there had been a verbal altercation and biting and kicking the injured party. She alleged the injured party had assaulted her during the argument.
A defence solicitor said the relationship was over and there had not been a repetition of this incident, He added that the defendant accepted that she acted in the heat of the moment and was sorry for her actions.
