A woman in the Charles Street area of Portadown disturbed two burglars in her home on Sunday night.

Constable Sarah Murray explained, “Around 6.30pm on Sunday a female occupant returned home and disturbed two males in her living room. The pair climbed out the front window of the house and made off towards Corcrain Mews.

“Both males are described as being of average height and were wearing hoodies.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to this incident. We can be contacted in Portadown on 101, quoting ref: 966071214.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage householders to revisit their security routines.

“A few simple steps like, locking all windows and doors, investing in good security lighting, removing valuables from sight and leaving lights and/or a radio on while you’re out can reduce your chance of becoming a victim of burglary.

“If you would like more crime prevention advice you can phone 101 to speak to your local crime prevention officer or neighbourhood policing team.”
