A woman was given suspended prison sentences last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for shoplifting offences which happened on 2011.

Sarah Ann Connors (32), Churchill Park, Portadown, admitted stealing an electric fire valued at £119.99 from Poundstretcher in Lurgan on September 9, 2011.

She also pleaded guilty to the theft of various items valued at £76.95 from New Look in Craigavon, and shoes valued at £16.99 from Shoe Zone in Rushmere on the same date.

For each offence she was sentenced to five months in prison, suspended for two years.

A solicitor for Connors said she wanted to face the music and put all these matters behind her.

He added that she previously had an issue with drugs but was now part of a church and had found some peace with herself.
