You can ‘Love Craigavon’ this summer

Visitors to Craigavon are sure to feel well and truly loved this summer as they will be treated to an exciting schedule of free entertainment, as well as vouchers for lots of goodies.

The Love Craigavon events, which have been organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, will take place on Saturdays from 1-29 August inclusive.

The schedule, which will include live entertainment in the form of radio road shows, great live jazz, hilarious marionette puppet shows and Swingabella with their sassy sets from the 40s and 50s is set to attract shoppers to the town centres each Saturday and be a big hit with children.

The U105 street teams will also be on hand every Saturday from 11am-2pm in Lurgan, Portadown, Tannaghmore Gardens and at Oxford Island giving out vouchers to passers-by so they can avail of lots of delicious treats in local coffee shops, restaurants and at partner visitor attractions.

The Love Craigavon schedule will officially kick off this Saturday (August 1) with entertainment running from 11am-2pm in Lurgan and Portadown town centres. The magnificent Espresso Jazz Band will take centre stage on the plaza in Lurgan town centre; while at the same time, Portadown will light up with a U105 Road Show with guest presenter, Paul McKenna. For the kids there will fabulous face painting and brilliant balloon modelling in each town!

The Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Darryn Causby said: “I’m delighted to announce this jam-packed schedule of events and promotions for Craigavon this summer and look forward to welcoming visitors and locals alike to enjoy the fun-filled entertainment each week. Craigavon has a great selection of shops and tourist attractions. Visitors are in for an extra special treat!”
