These 11 products are being recalled by supermarkets, including Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Waitrose and Aldi

The Food Standards Agency collects data and issues warnings about certain food products if they need to be recalled for safety reasons.

Food products with undeclared allergens can cause major problems for consumers with an intolerance or allergy.

Other products may contain harmful bacteria like Salmonella and are unsafe for anyone to eat.

Here is a list of products that are being recalled by supermarkets in the UK right now, to check for in your cupboards.

Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels

Sainsbury’s is recalling its frozen By Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels, due to Salmonella being found in some products from the batch.

The products being recalled come in a 300g pack size, dated best before 08 September 2021, with the batch code 2653152.

Anyone who has purchased the product should not eat it, and instead return it to the store it was purchased for a full refund.

Lidl’s What’s Cooking? Lighter for You Meatballs

Lidl GB is recalling its Lighter for You Meatballs with Pasta and Spinach from its What’s Cooking? Range, due to a packaging error meaning the milk contained in the product is undeclared.

Because the product contains milk, it poses a health risk to anyone who is intolerant or has an allergy to milk, or milk constituents.

If you’ve bought the product and have a milk allergy, do not eat it. Return it to the store it was purchased from for a full refund.

Aldi’s Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin Chicken

Aldi is extending an earlier recall of its Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin’ Chicken, because the products may contain Salmonella.

The products come in a 210g pack size, and are being recalled for any batch code and best before date.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) advises not to consume the products if you have purchased them. You can return them to the nearest Aldi store for a full refund.

Iceland’s Twix Barres Glacees (Twix Ice-Cream Bars)

Iceland is recalling its Twix Barres Glacees because the allergens are not listed on the product in English.

The product contains milk, wheat (gluten) and soya, and may also contain hazelnuts (nuts) and peanuts. None of these are mentioned on the label in English, meaning the product is unsafe for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to any of those ingredients.

If you purchased the product and have any of these food allergies, do not eat it. You can return the product to the store it was purchased for a full refund.

Waitrose Pork and Chorizo Burgers

Waitrose is recalling its Easy to Cook Pork and Chorizo Burgers, as they contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.

As the products contain egg, they pose a risk to anyone with an egg allergy or intolerance.

The recalled products come in a 280g pack size, with all use by dates being recalled.

The FSA advises: “If you have bought the product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg, do not eat it. Instead return it to a local Waitrose store for a full refund.

“Alternatively contact Waitrose Customer Care on 0800 188 884.”

Lidl SImply Mature White Cheddar

Lidl is recalling its Simply Mature White Cheddar cheese because it may contain pieces of plastic, making it unsafe to eat.

The affected products are 900g and have a best before date of 26 December 2020.

If you have bought the product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store it was purchased from for a full refund.

Liroy B.V is recalling its Sau Tao Spinach Noodle because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.

Worthenshaws is recalling its Kirsty’s Classic Beef Lasagne, as it contains oats (that are gluten free), although the package states that the product is free from all 14 allergens.
