All Stars lose unbeaten tag

Ballymoney and Coleraine District Snooker League, sponsored by Coppergate International

IT was back to league matches last week when BRBL All Stars lost their unbeaten record after hosting Triangle Destroyers, going down by four frames to two.

But they were handed a frame on a plate after McIntyre, who was 19 points clear with only the pink and the black ball on the table, missed the pink ball completely.

It has to be put down to just bad play but this does happen, losing concentration, and could happen to anyone.

A draw would have been a good result for All Stars as they have a game in hand.

There is no doubt that the team on the up is Uni B in their first season, who beat Triangle Young Guns by a staggering five frames to one.

This surely sends out a message as they both meet again in the Walker Knockout Cup semi-final.

The Garvagh team had a good win over Triangle B by four frames to two, while CRBL Hawks had their first win over BRBL Diamonds who are still looking to get a win on the board.

It’s Triangle A who sit at the top after a five wins to one win over newcomers Dunloy Chiefs, and Dunloy United also had a fine win over Galaxy by the same margin, and also take a place in the Walker Knockout Cup waiting for the winners of Uni B or Triangle Young Guns. Dates will be set for the semi-finals at the next committee meeting.
