Ballymena & Antrim athletes produce '˜relay' good displays
In total BAAC fielded 48 athletes and came back with 37 medals of various colours.
That in itself is a fantastic achievement but to make it an even more special night the boys under 17 4 x 100m relay team not only won their event but also set a new N.Ireland record of 44.6 seconds.

The team consists of Michael McAuley (St. Louis), Adam Neilly (Ballymena Academy), Reese McMurray (Sperrin Integrated College) and Peter Wright (Dalriada). What a fantastic achievement for these young men who are definitely finding their form this season.
Meanwhile, the Inter Provincial Schools U17 Championships were held on Saturday in the Morton Stadium in Santry. Attending the event representing Ulster was Slemish College flyer Lauren Roy and new sprint sensation Adam Neilly from Ballymena Academy .
The occasion certainly didn’t get to Lauren as she recorded a new personal best of 24.85 seconds to win the 200m. Not content with that she picked up a silver medal in the 100m along with a personal best of 12.1 seconds and another gold in the relay event. Not a bad day’s work for this inspiring athlete who gives her all every time she races.

Also starring at the Inter Provincial Schools was local Ballymena lad Adam Neilly.
Taking part in the 400m Adam powered his way to second place and also picked up a gold in the 4 x 400m relay. Another powerful display from this up and coming young athlete which should see him selected for the Ireland team to run in SIAB Schools International in Ashford, Kent. It’s hard to believe that he just started running for BAAC last summer.
All in all a great week for BAAC athletes which just underlines the level of depth at the club.
