CIS: Coleraine win but Glenavon prove too strong for Portstewart

Coleraine hit five past a plucky Glebe Rangers in the CIS Cup on Saturday.

Goals from David Scullion (2), Darren Boyce (2) and Stephen Lowry helped Coleraine through to the next round.

But it wasn't plain sailing for Platt's side as the Ballymoney outfit battled hard and grabbed two goals in as many minutes.

Rangers players Tommy Elder and Ricky Nicholl started the fight back but their efforts were in vain as Coleraine ran out 5-2 winners.

Meanwhile Glenavon proved too strong for Gary Taylor's Portstewart. Marty side won the encounter 5-1. Portstewart's goal coming from teenage star Kris McNeill.
