Crewe continue to develop pitch

In 2013, Crewe United successfully developed a floodlit training pitch at Crewe Park, Lisburn with funding from the Biffa Award Grant Scheme.

Lisburn City Council through its Leisure Services Committee was delighted to have provided a set of 7-aside goal posts to complete this much needed facility.

Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee, speaking about the local club, said:

“It was excellent news that Crewe United won the Recreation category in the recent Biffa Awards and I was delighted to hear that the club also won the overall UK-wide annual competition across all five categories. Both of these awards are prestigious environmental and community awards.

“Crewe United is a local football team that is willing to invest significantly in the resources available to its players and the local community. This new floodlit pitch has enhanced the activity at this local club with increased numbers of schools, youth clubs and sports clubs availing of the first-class facilities. I would like to commend Crewe United for all that the club does in terms of football, encouraging activity within the local community and for charity. Keep up the good work,” he said.
