Annagh United captain Richard Allen enjoyed close to the perfect weekend - but feels there is still more to come from the NIFL Championship newcomers.

Allen left Institute having recorded a clean sheet and grabbed the only goal as Annagh picked up maximum points from a first test on the road in the Irish League’s second tier.

Now the centre-back is keen to use the confidence generated by six points from two games.

“It was great to get a goal and credit to Raymond Harpur for such an excellent free-kick delivery,” said Allen. “To come away from Institute with a clean sheet and three points is excellent but I still think we will improve over the season.

“There is a natural period of adjustment when moving up, especially with it so new to so many of the players.

“As we settle into this division I am sure the quality on the ball will also improve but keeping it tight at the back offers a great platform.”
