BUYA U9’s v North End U10’s

Ballymoney were punished with a Northend goal in the first minute. Ballymoney then kept Northend under constant pressure with Joshua Morrison having a fantastic game in defence. Joel Christie terrorised the opposition defence on the right wing getting his reward midway through the first half scoring after a good run. Money finished the half a deserved 2-1 up after Joel Christie made a superb solo run from inside his own half finishing it with a strike across the keeper. At the start of the second half Ballymoney gave away a soft equaliser. The boys kept working hard and were unlucky to concede a further two goals deep into the second half.

BUYA U10’s v Carniny

Top of the table Carniny opened the scoring with a well-worked goal. With the half drawing to an end Carniny broke with down the right wing to slot home the second goal. With the wind it wasn’t long before Carniny scored a superb solo third goal after the break. From the kick off Ballymoney threw everything at Carniny and were soon rewarded with a goal. Carniny scored a late goal to make it 4-1. The scoreline did not reflect the true story of this game, with Ballymoney hitting the bar and post on several occasions.

BUYA U11’s v Maiden City

This game was tough for both teams as the weather conditions were poor. Ballymoney had a lot of good chances early on but failed to score, and were punished when City scored 2 quick goals leaving Ballymoney chasing the game. All in all it was a game of missed chances for Ballymoney and the final score didn’t do them any justice as they played a lot of good football.

BUYA U12’s v Stranocum

The under 12’s recent run of good results came to an end on Saturday with defeat to Stranocum under 13’s.

With the wind behind them in the first half Ballymoney battled well and with the number of attempts they had on goal were a bit unfortunate to end the first half 6-2 down. Those two goals for Seaan Elliot were to be our lot for the day as Stranocum with the wind behind pressed on against the young Ballymoney side to run out comfortable winners.

BUYA U13’s v Portrush

In terrible playing conditions at Riada Stadium, a Ryan McCooke free kick opened the scoring from 25 yards on 11 minutes, 5 minutes later an Odhran ‘midge’ McGarry goal extended the lead. Right on half time Captain ‘Decky’ Smith forced home Andy Dunlop’s corner for his first of the season to send the home team 3 up at the break.

Ballymoney continued to control the game and McGarry got his 2nd firing home from 10 yards, then Ryan McCloy burst through and lobbed the keeper to remain 1 goal behind ‘midge’ for top scorer.

BUYA U14’s v Magherafelt

Money were disappointed to go in at the break level at 1-1. The breakthrough for Ballymoney came on 20 minutes when Boreland played a one two with O’Kane and from 25 yards shot high into the net. With minutes to half time Ballymoney conceded a free kick just inside their own half and the big sky blues centre back stepped up and hit a wind assisted shot into the roof of the net from over 40 yards.

The Magherafelt winner came on 50 minutes when a speculative cross-shot from the left caught out the Ballymoney keeper and the blues striker tapped in to a open net from close range.

BUYA U15’s v Coleraine

Ballymoney were eager to avenge the defeat to Coleraine earlier in the season and also knew three points would take them within striking distance at the top of the table. This was a game that Ballymoney never looked like losing and despite a missed penalty and a few efforts coming back of the woodwork, two goals from Josh Elliot and one from Dessie Kearney ensured that Ballymoney captured all three points.

BUYA U16’s v Glebe U17’s

Ballymoney under 16s were on the wrong end to a deceiving scoreline after a hard encounter against Glebe under 17s. A disputed penalty gave Glebe the lead against the run of play, the half finished 3-0. The second half was dominated by the toon and deservedly made it 3-1 from a penalty taken by Conner Hamilton. The toon played excellent football and showed great team spirit and although two late goals can take great credit for the way they played throughout. The score line did not reflect the football played by the toon.

BUYA U17’s v Donemana

After 10 mins Money opened the scoreline through Michael Mullaghan and at the end of the first half they were 4-0 up with Michael Mullaghan getting a second. Billy Hickison got his first goal of the season with a volley from 20 yards and Jamie Hanna also scored. In the second half with the wind, Mathew Caufield came on to left wing and set up Nicky McKissick to slot home Ballymoney’s 5th, Mullaghan was brought down in the Donemana box and Liam McKenna  slotted home a penalty to put Ballymoney 6-0 in front. Five mins before the whistle Mullaghan got his hat trick.
