Aaron Walsh secured derby delight over Annagh United on Saturday as the Villagers registered victory after five fixtures without a win.
A mid-table position appears the outcome in Championship One for Loughgall but Boyle is aiming to use the closing game this weekend as a key part of the gameplan towards the showpiece cup test with Armagh City.
“We have Armagh City at Lakeview Park in the Bob Radcliffe Cup on Friday, May 6 so I want players to go into this weekend’s last league game against Ards aiming to pin down a shirt,” said Boyle. “It was great to get back to winning ways and important to secure a clean sheet as well, so now we must build on that confidence.
“Everyone is looking forward to the cup final but you can never just flick a switch and go from a casual performance to a cup final display.
“It would be wrong to think we are safe in the league and have nothing to play for against Ards.
“Every player has his place in the cup final squad under the spotlight and I want that hunger and desire to show in the Ards match.
“We had our full panel available in the Annagh win and looked in much better shape as a result.
“Although we are missing some players for the Ards fixture, it is still a great opportunity for so many to impress.
“Ards may have the title wrapped up by this weekend but, in reality, that situation should not alter our approach to the game.”
Boyle’s future at Lakeview Park will prove part of the post-season discussion but he remains confident in the potential of the panel.
“I think it is frustrating as we missed players for different reasons at different times and those changes disrupted our progress,” he said. “We will probably finish around the middle of the table but this squad is good enough to push on up the league and the next step will be to build on what we have at the club.
“With a few key additions I am convinced this group can push on.
“But first we have the final league game and the cup.”
