The Bannsiders got back to winning ways again at the weekend with a hard fought victory over Warrenpoint Town. Browne grabbed a brace to seal a 3-2 victory to take him to five for the season and he told Times Sport after the game it was the perfect confidence boost going in to the clash at Windsor Park.

“Since the Cliftonville performance we’ve maybe been a wee bit under par so it was nice to pick up the three points today,” said Browne.

“We made it a wee bit hard for ourselves in the second half after going in to the break 2-0 up. But the important thing was for us to get the three points and we done that.

“It has given us a big boost going in to the game at Linfield. It’s always a massive game every time you play them at Windsor Park. As I say though going in to that game on the back of a win will give us a big confidence boost.

“I think it will suit our style going there, it’s a big pitch which as I say will suit our passing game. We certainly won’t be going there with any fear and we’ll be confident of getting something out of it.

“As a striker obviously it’s important to chip in with goals luckily enough I’ve managed to pick up a few so far and hopefully I can keep that going and help us push up the table a bit. When you go back to play against your old club you have a bit of a point to prove. But for me it’s about all of us performing as well as we can and doing our best as a team.”
