Five goals increased Tandragee Rovers’ winning sequence to five fixtures on Saturday as Ulster University Jordanstown suffered across the Intermediate Cup clash.

Early pressure resulted in a sight of goal for Simon McClean before Cecil Corbett converted Jamie Uprichard’s cross to break the deadlock.

A second Corbett goal helped to cap the well-worked corner-kick routine between AJ Gallagher, Mark Bicker and Josh McIlwrath.

Bicker and Gallagher came close to increasing the advantage but Corbett’s hat-trick finish - from a penalty kick - handed Rovers the perfect second-half boost.

The visitors to Madden Road hit back, however, across the second half as tactical changes increased the Jordanstown attacking threat.

Two goals helped to close the gap on Rovers but the hosts continued to carve out scoring opportunities.

Lee Wells stepped up to the penalty spot after a foul on Mark Bicker as Rovers managed to shut down the Jordanstown fightback.

Bicker wrapped up the tie by chasing an upfield punt then gaining his reward with a simple finish following a defensive error.

McClean was selected as Rovers’ leading player.
