Portadown Integrated Ladies’ Lauren Currie was between the posts for Northern Ireland under 17s in the recent UEFA Women’s European Championships qualifying.
The goalkeeper, a student at Craigavon Senior High School, helped Northern Ireland produce clean sheets in Macedonia against the host nation and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Northern Ireland defeated Macedonia by 3-0 and finished scoreless in the other match.
Italy recently recorded a 5-0 win, with Currie also in nets.
Northern Ireland have now progressed into the elite rond of the campaign.
Portadown Integrated Ladies’ Lana Black and Aisling McKenna will be representing the club tomorrow (Saturday) at the Northern Ireland Women’s Football Association awards.
Training for the youth section will take place tonight (Friday) at Craigavon City, with all welcome.
