Derriaghy edge past Wellington Rec
The Cricketers had first strike on 11 minutes when a forward beat keeper Brendan Quinn to a searching cross.
Derriaghy generally had the better of things up against an understrength Wellington, but rarely looked like adding to that lead; some shots from distance being comfortably dealt with by keeper Quinn.

Hide AdThe second session was more of the same and the tie looked to be petering out for a 1-0 until Jamie Beggs snatched an equaliser 10 minutes from time when he stole in to nod home Gareth Hastings’ pin-point cross.
And so into extra-time, where it was looking increasingly like penalties, until Derriaghy grabbed that late winner just three minutes from the end of the second period; first to react to the loose ball after the initial shot had been pawed out by Quinn.
