Hanover representatives headed off to Europe recently as part of celebrations to honour five decades of roots in Portadown.
Over 60 officials, players past and present and supporters spent four days in Germany on a club trip designed to kick off the 50th anniversary party.
Preparations for a special dinner in The Seagoe Hotel on Saturday, May 30 continue to gather pace as Hanover committee members work towards highlighting the landmark in style.
The official itinerary included a visit to two Bundesliga fixtures - Hamburg’s home clash with Hertha Berlin then the visit by Borussia Dortmund to Hannover 96.
“It was a brilliant trip and great to have players and Hanover people from across the years,” said Hanover’s Dean Crowe. “We had people over in Germany who have connections with Hanover dating back to the club’s formation.
“Alan Gracey has the respect of everyone connected to the club for his part in Hanover’s history as a player and official.

“It was great to have Alan over with us all and someone like Norman Donaldson, along with other guys dating back to the 1970s and 1980s.
“We used Hamburg as a base and the Bundesliga games proved really special.
“The grounds were amazing, with the atmosphere something else.
“We had a great time and even got a bar next to our hotel to open especially on Sunday to watch the Liverpool v Manchester United match on television.
“Now the focus is on our dinner, with tickets still available.”
Dinner tickets cost £40 per person, with the price inclusive of a meal and entertainment which will feature a special guest speaker.
Club officials would like to hear from any former players, officials or fans keen to take a trip down memory lane.
