Hanover’s hospitality towards newly-crowned league champions Newry City AFC extended to surrendering a 1-0 lead at Brownstown Park.

The home side entered the match in pursuit of runners-up spot within Intermediate A and gained control thanks to a superb Chris Elliott free-kick.

City took advantage of a lacklustre Hanover display to turn the tables despite having the goalkeeper sent off.

“It was a disappointing performance,” said Hanover manager Steven Hyndes. “Now second is going to be tough.”
