Chris Hartley celebrated his recent return to Markethill Swifts duty with a five-goal flurry to see off Seagoe.

Neil Shaw scored two and featured on the Swifts scoresheet alongside Stephen Hartley, Kyle Irwin and Scott Cully in the 10-4 triumph.

“It is great to have Chris back,” said David Andrews, the Markethill Swifts manager. “We were a lot better in the second half and I was pleased we kept a clean sheet after the break.

“Thomas Aston put in a really energetic performance.

“Our defending, however, was scandalous in the first half but we were much better in the second.”

The Swifts lost a 2-0 lead before holding the upper hand at 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4 entering the interval.

“We were too wide open,” said Seagoe boss Glenn McCullough. “It seemed as if every time we equalised they went up and scored.

“Matthew Connolly got three goals and William Kerr was our other scorer.”
