Manager looking forward to brighter future

Although beaten on Saturday Celtic manager Ciaran O’Kane took some positives from the game.

“It was disappointing,” he said. “We played well in the first 25 minutes and it was 0-0. We thought we had a clear penalty which was not given and there was a foul on one of our players in the build up to their first goal.

“Then within four minutes we were three down and were scrapping for a draw. But that’s the way it goes. When you are down things go against you.”

Ciaran looks on this season as a rebuilding period.

“We have young players who will come good. No one at the club is going to throw in the towel,” he added.

“We have six teenagers in the squad and it is great for them to play at this level. It would be better to bring them in one or two at a time so the situation is not ideal but it will bear fruit.

“I am keen on developing the young players and keeping them at the club.

“We want the best young players available from the local area and in a couple of years it will pay off.”
