Portadown-born Luke McCullough is in line to face Stoke City this weekend.
The defender’s club - Doncaster Rovers - will host top-flight Stoke City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
McCullough was handed a recall to the starting line-up in the League One club’s recent 3-0 defeat of Southend United and completed the full fixture as part of a three-man backline.
“It’s obviously a big game for the club, especially at home,” said McCullough. “There is no real pressure on us so we can go into the match aiming to pull off a surprise.
“Stoke have been in great form and produced some impressive results, especially thanks to those attacking players such as Bojan, Xherdan Shaqiri and Ibrahim Afellay.”
A clean sheet and 90-plus minutes on the pitch would provide McCullough with encouragement as he attempts to cement a spot in the side for the high-profile FA Cup clash.
McCullough’s long-term target remains a seat on the plane for the EURO 2016 finals with Northern Ireland in France.
