Noel Mitchell will step into the Lakeview Park dugout for the first time on Saturday following his appointment this week as Loughgall manager.
Mitchell will be joined at Loughgall by Stephen Uprichard, both having previously worked together for many years at Coagh United.
Mitchell is expected to make his first team selection for the weekend league game against PSNI in consultation with Ryan Moffatt, the club captain, as the holiday schedule has restricted the newly-appointed manager’s time with the senior squad.
Mitchell has been a familiar face at Lakeview Park due to his role within the Regions’ Cup selection panel. Marcus Dallas, the former Coagh player, is also on the books at Loughgall.
A club spokesman confirmed to the ‘Times’ that Daniel Burns has been released to join Knockbreda in a move agreed prior to the Bob Radcliffe Cup final.
It is understood that the remaining players confirmed to officials a desire to stay at Loughgall during Tuesday’s meeting.
Neil Alderdice’s playing time may be limited for the rest of the season due to commitments outside of football and Warner Mullen will miss the PSNI match as a result of a family holiday.
“I’m delighted that Noel and Stephen have agreed to become our new management team,” said Loughgall chairman John McCann in a statement on the club website. “They both come as highly-respected and experienced coaches in local football and everyone at Lakeview is looking forward to their arrival.
“We can now approach the remainder of the season with a degree of optimism and expectation.”
Kick-off tomorrow (Saturday) will be 2 o’clock.
