ALL involved with Moyola Park AFC would like to congratulate Chris Selfridge on his recent victories in the Irish Close Title at Royal Portrush and also East of Ireland Championship at Baltray Golf Club.

Moyola Park have announced the first four of their pre season games. The first will be against Dungannon Swifts on Saturday 7th July at the Mill Meadow with a 2pm kick off, the following Tuesday the 10th July they welcome former player Oran Kearney’s Coleraine to the Mill Meadow with a 7.30pm kick off and they also welcome 1st Liverpool Supporters Club on the 14th July with a 2pm kick off and Castletown FC to the Mill Meadow on Saturday 21st July with a 1pm kick off. Details of other games will be released in due course.

Raid the attic, search the garage, go ask the Grand-parents; what-ever it takes in fact, because we are having a Fancy Dress Parade in Castledawson on 23rd of June. So go kit out the kids (and yourselves) and join in. We hope to meet at the playing fields at the Boyne Row at about 1pm. From there we will go along Main Street, down Bridge Street, and into the Mill Meadow. There we will have prize-giving followed by a few fun games. Don’t miss it...there will be a lot happening: helium balloons, bonny baby competition, 3 legged race and more. Keep a look-out for more details in the papers (especially in this column.)

Crowds will flock to the banks of the Moyola River, Castledawson on Saturday 30th June to see the throng of ducks being dispatched downstream, without so much as a waddle or a quack. The Moyola Park FC Duck Race is now in its 3rd year -and it’s the one day in the year when the view from the bridge in the town turns decidedly yellow! The race will start @ 11.45am (following Football Development Centre) and the finish Line will be the Moyola Bridge, Moyola Road, Castledawson. Light Refreshments to follow back at Mill Meadow and

Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd ducks across the finish line and every duck costs £2.

Moyola Ladies, 15 years plus, have kicked off their new season with training taking place on Monday nights from 7- 8.15pm at the Mill Meadow.

Anyone interested please come along and join us. Also for the first year 11–14 year old girls also train Monday nights at the same time.

This training is to facilitate the coaching and the development of football for young girls feeding through to Moyola Park Senior Ladies team, also competing in competitions. For further information contact Valerie Martin on 07754450988

Zumba Classes take place every Thursday night in the Mill Meadow and run from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and the instructor is Deborah Logan.

The FDC centre takes place each Saturday at Mill Meadow from 10:30am. Cost is £2 per week. It is open to all from ages 4-11. Registration is at 10:15am. Please come appropriately dressed, wearing moulded boots, shin guards and bring a bottle of water

Registration is £5, which must be paid within the first five weeks of attendance.

A discount will be available for more than one child with a family paying a maximum of £10. On paying the £5 registration you will receive a 10% discount card for Sportsworld, Rainey Street. For more information contact Keith Quigley on 07912761911.

The Lucky Numbers drawn for Saturday 9th – 2, 7, 17 and 20 and the £50 consolation prize was won by Sheila McCann.

The Jackpot Prize for Saturday 16th June stands at £5000. Tickets are available in the Social Club or from committee members and please note that the jackpot has now been capped at £5000.
