Three former Portadown players featured on the international stage for Northern Ireland Over 55s during Saturday’s veterans’ challenge in Lurgan.
Terry Nicholson, Jimmy Gardiner and Dessie Edgar lined out against England at Mourneview Park.
Gardiner grabbed two goals in a 3-1 home success.
The squad also included former Annagh United player Seamus Heath and Portadown-born Steven Carville.
Players connected to the current Portadown panel can also point to international progress.
