Darren Murray increased his pre-season run to six goals in three appearances as Portadown wrapped up the run of friendly games at Shamrock Park with a 4-1 success against Harland and Wolff Welders.
The Ports visit Annagh United next Saturday in a derby date to close out the summer schedule and can make the trip boosted by another assured display.
Murray made his mark with a quickfire double around the 20-minute period to push Portadown into a comfortable lead.
David Miskelly had produced an early save to prevent the Welders from breaking the deadlock ahead of Murray’s brace.
Gary Twigg had a shot at a stretch bounce off the crossbar from a cross by the impressive Jake Richardson.
Murray came close to his treble but found the path blocked, with Sean Mackle curling wide off the striker’s subsequent pass.
Portadown wrapped up the half with a third goal as Chris Casement steered in a low free-kick with the final kick before the break.
Robert Garrett displayed quick feet to make space before slipping a pass for Peter McMahon to convert number four.
A penalty kick by former Portadown striker Michael McLellan handed the Welders a consolation.
Fans are reminded to check travel information for the best route to the Tandragee Road ground next weekend due to work at the Annagh bridge.
