Ken Oman has had to spend this season watching Portadown’s Irish Cup run from the stands - and he opted to take a seat with the fans today (Saturday).
The recent arrival was signed outside the registration deadline for the competition but that did not stop Oman enjoying the 3-1 semi-final success against Ballymena United.
Victory against Ballymena has now put the Ports one win away from silverware and European qualification - a sign of a squad growing towards a bright future, with Oman keen to play his part down the line.
“I enjoyed the game and it was a good atmosphere in with the away fans,” said Oman. “It is hard to watch knowing I cannot play but I am delighted for the players, fans and everyone at the club.
“The place is going to be buzzing now, especially leading up to the final.
“Any cup final is a great day out and, especially with the way the league has gone, it is also great for the club.”
