Portadown officials have dismissed rumours of an issue with Darren Murray’s contract.
The Ports striker has been linked with a move away from Shamrock Park this summer - with Cliftonville considered prime candidates to snap up Murray.
However, manager Ronnie McFall last week told the Portadown Times of his determination to retain those players under contract.
Club sources today (Monday) confirmed to the ‘Times’ that Murray remains under professional contract at Shamrock Park, having signed a two-year extension in 2014.
“Darren is under contract at the club and we consider rumours of any problems with his registration to be total nonsense,” said a Portadown spokesman. “This has popped up on social media over the weekend but is without substance.”
