Nathaniel Ferris has been rewarded for his impressive form on tour with Northern Ireland Schoolboys under 18s.
The Portadown striker scored four goals recently against Guernsey and Jersey to mark in style his first taste of international recognition at that level.
As a result of his on-the-field form and training commitment, Ferris has been included in the Inspiresport-sponsored Centenary Shield squad for tonight’s (Friday’s) clash with Scotland.
The game in Glasgow will kick-off at 7 o’clock.
“Nathaniel Ferris did very well with a hat-trick in Jersey,” said Frankie Wilson, joint manager of the Northern Ireland panel. “I hope that he will continue in similar form against the Scots and team up well with (Matthew) Shevlin.”
The Northern Ireland boys will face England in Comber on Friday, March 4 then visit the Republic of Ireland on St Patrick’s Day.
