Rangers’ hunt for new boss begins

Grange Rangers were idle at the weekend but Bushmills United will be the visitors to Foundry Lane this Saturday for an IFA Junior Cup first-round tie.

Following the resignation of first-team manager Paul McAllister, applications are invited for a successor, so anyone interested should contact Rangers chairman, Ivan Higgins (07989697304).

“Paul was a dedicated manager who committed himself 100 per cent to the job, and had revived the fortunes of the club. We wish to thank him for all his hard work during the past two seasons and wish him all the best,” said club secretary Wayne Lewis.

“Last season we were in the top three for most of the time before finishing in mid-table in the Amateur League Division 2B.

“We are an ambitious club with a strong committee structure and we hope this vacancy will attract a few candidates.”

Meantime, Lewis has been placed in charge of club affairs.
