Jamie Rea wasted little time in making his mark for Loughgall - with the teenager on target last weekend less than 48 hours after securing a switch from Glenavon.
Rea, who will spend the next few months at Lakeview Park, was confirmed as a Loughgall player on Thursday and adjusted quickly to grab a vital goal in the 1-1 draw with Ballyclare Comrades.
Stephen Hawe, the joint manager at Loughgall alongside Stephen Uprichard, was left impressed by Rea’s impact.
“Jamie only came in from Glenavon last week but showed a lot of energy, worked very hard and had that bit of extra pace we wanted in the final third,” said Hawe. “It was great for Jamie to get a goal on his debut and I know he is still very much part of Gary Hamilton’s long-term plans at Glenavon but he wants him to get gametime and experience.
“We are still aiming to bring a few players in but can be pleased with the squad overall and it was a good performance against Ballyclare, bar conceding a poor goal due to one lapse in concentration.
“Overall, the defence was brilliant for a first competitive appearance and the team spirit is starting to really have a positive impact.
“We are showing a bit of steel now and everyone is looking forward to Saturday’s first home game against Lurgan Celtic.
“It should attract a decent crowd.”
