Gallagher scores either side of the break as Tandragee men march into another semi-final.
Tandragee Rovers’ cup commitments have provided many of this season’s highlights - with Saturday’s knockout schedule serving up another moment to savour.
The Madden Road men edged home following a seven-goal tussle for control with Lower Maze in the Premier Cup quarter-finals.
Lower Maze gained the upper hand before Mark Bicker’s determined run and crisp drive levelled the tie.
Simon McClean capped good work with a cross converted by Johnny Black.
AJ Gallagher’s free-kick then found the net via the post.
Gallagher doubled his tally for 4-2 with a shot from distance that managed to deceive the goalkeeper.
A penalty kick kept Lower Maze in contention but Rovers battled to maintain the lead despite suffering a late red card.
It provided Rovers with a second semi-final, just weeks after the Bob Radcliffe Cup’s last-four clash.
