Singleton scores as Glenavon beat Town 4-2 in friendly
With neither Club having a League match for various reasons, both managers were delighted to give their squads a work out before returning to competitive fixtures next week.
Glenavon began brightly and put the hosts under severe pressure in the first few minutes. Despite this, Banbridge took the lead with their first real attack. Clydesdale forced a save from Taylor in the visitors’ goal and although the resulting corner was cleared, Town kept the ball alive and Moffatt’s fine volley found the net.

Four minutes later, Singleton gave the visitors the lead and Town went further behind after 39 minutes when Patton’s mazy run left him free of the home defence to slot the ball home.
Immediately after the break Town reduced the arrears when Clydesdale’s persistence caused havoc in Glenavon’s defence and he was able to score from close range.
Jack Sharvin restored the visitors’ two goal advantage with a fine left foot effort in the 67th minute and the match finished 4-2.
This Saturday, Town return to Premier Intermediate League action when they host Tobermore Utd at Crystal Park with the match Kicking Off at 3pm.
