Richhill rattled home four goals without reply to sink Markethill Swifts in Saturday’s derby.

The Swifts raced clear by 2-0 thanks to Josh Johnstone’s finish off a Stephen Hartley corner-kick and Carl Wilson touch.

Hartley then fired home an angled drive to increase the gap.

A turning point arrived late in the first half as Neil Shaw’s attempt was saved then Richhill capped a slick counter-attack by closing the gap off David Ross’ finish.

Second-half success in front of the net from Paul Duffy and Richard Morrison put Richhill in control, following an own goal to level the match.

“We didn’t play that well and it was obviously disappointing to go 2-0 up then throw it all away,” said David Andrews, the Markethill Swifts boss. “We lacked sharpness compared to Richhill.

“Fair play to Richhill, however, for taking full advantage.”
