Wakehurst unbeaten run ended by Dundela

WAKEHURST suffered their first league defeat of the season on Saturday when they were beaten 4-2 by Championship Two favourites Dundela in East Belfast.

The opening period was cautious with few opportunities in the first 20 minutes.

That all changed on 25 minutes when Craig McCracken opened the scoring for Dundela.

Five minutes later McCracken increased the lead for Dundela when he got a second goal after the Wakehurst defence failed to clear their lines. It was three for Dundela on 37 minutes when McCracken completed his hat-trick.

Ian Gregg's men were under severe pressure and on the stroke of half time, Glen Upton made it four for Dundela.

Wakehurst were left with an impossible task in the second half but deserve credit for a battling performance which produced two goals, the first from Jason Paul and the second, a penalty from Mark Crawford but it wasn't enough to prevent their first league defeat of the season.
