Garvey boys bring home another trophy

Lisnagarvey’s successful season has continued with yet another trophy to add to their heaving cabinet.

This time it’s the U15s boys, who have won the Ulster U15 Boys Cup following a 4-1 victory over Annadale at sun-drenched PlayBall Belfast last Friday evening.

The Garvey boys got off to the perfect start when Andrew O’Hare dived in to open the scoring on ten minutes but Annadale rallied to force a good save at a penalty corner from goalkeeper Frazer Carnduff.

Garvey extended their lead before half-time through a counter-attack with Spencer Pinion staying calm to slot the ball home from the circle edge.

In the second half, Garvey picked up the pace and William Carey added an excellent third goal following an assist from O’Hare. Annadale were not giving up however and once again put pressure on the Garvey defence, getting reward with an excellent shot from the tightest of angles.

The game was made secure for Garvey soon afterwards with O’Hare showing great composure when lobbing the keeper following an assist from Sam Brown.

This victory crowned a magnificent season for the boys and augers well for the future of the Lisnagarvey Club.
