Lambeg Captain’s charity day raises money for local charities

THE Captain of Lambeg Golf Club, David Hilland, raised £1000 on his Charity Day and decided for the funds to be split between two charities.

£500.00 was presented to Valerie Parker for Macmillan Cancer Care by current President, Brian Bates. Valeries husband Dougie Parker, who passed away just over one year ago, was a Past Captain and President of the club. He was on the club council for many years and was well respected by all the members of the club. Valerie, accompanied with her daughter Suzanne and grand-daughter Jesssica, presented the club with a beautiful memorial trophy in remembrance of Dougie.

The second charity to benefit was Lisburn 2gether Special Olympics. David has close connections with this charity as his job involves supporting adults with learning disability. Representatives from the charity, Margaret McClelland and Helen Mahood were presented with a cheque for £500 from club Captain, David Hilland.
