John Mackin’s men moved into top spot on the overall Winter League leaderboard last weekend thanks to a 13-card tally of 259.5 points.
The Richardson’s Meats-sponsored competition has now hit the halfway point, with Mackin and his colleagues leading holding the upper hand.
Mark Hewitt posted 25.5 points to win the section one beef prize as Mackin’s leading player. Michael Collett and Ronnie McReynolds also proved impressive on, respectively, 22.5 and 22 points apiece.
Andrew Poole’s players have 39 points for second on the main scoreboard - but Alan Simpson’s players finished week five as runners-up on 243 for third overall.
Jason Gordon was the pick of Simpson’s squad on 22.5 points, collecting as a result a section one voucher. Terence Mallon picked up the turkey prize across section three thanks to 22 points.
Keith Walker’s players came home third last week on 241 points - with Ian Lamb leading the way on 22.5 towards section two’s beef prize. Robert Hughes put up 20.5 points for section three’s beef award.

Team results outside the top-three positions were: Poole 240 points, Gilliland 232.5, Elliott 229, Grant 226.5, Sloan 225.5, Cassidy 223 and Jones 211.
Derek McCoy won the Monday Seniors 14-hole Stableford thanks to 31 points and success across the seven-hole countback.
The low section prize went to Mark Taylor on 31, with Liam Murray top of the high section due to 30.
Ronnie Weir was the leading veteran on 27 points.
In the ladies’ Winter League, Rosemarie Wilson proved top across week seven thanks to 22 points - followed home by Clare Patton’s 19 and Angela Wray with 18.
The team results were: 1, Garvin 82; 2, Dale 80; 3, Horsfall 79; 4, Wray 72; 5, Burnett 61.
