Team is Toastof the town
The Belfast and District team were the toast of the town with a recent win over Galgorm Castle. Needing two games at this County Antrim venue to advance Lurgan were off to a flier with a brisk win by Paul McCabrey.
In the other matches Lurgan faced stiff challenges. In the end Gary Clarke stepped up to the mark to secures the other necessary win.
Lurgan now have reached the fourth round of the competition.
Despite a magnificent effort the Senior Cowdy team failed to overcome a strong Tandragee team in the return leg at Lurgan. Trailing 28-4 they fell just short winning 26.5-5.5.
