St Mary’s youth graduate Brendan Hagan climbed off the substitutes’ bench to settle the reserves’ Mid-Ulster League Cup final with a late finish.
It capped a superb fightback by the Saints as Valley Rangers Swifts entered half-time clear by 2-0 but finished 4-3 down at the final whistle.
Sean Mallon - part of the side’s three-man management team alongside Kevin Murphy and Dermot Liggett - sparked the fightback before Eamon Liggett levelled the final in Tandragee.
The Swifts regained the lead but Ryan McVeigh converted James Cullen’s cross to put the sides on level terms ahead of Hagan’s impact introduction.
“It was a great second-half performance,” said St Mary’s Gerry Fay. “Credit to the management and players.”
