Hilden B collapse to defeat

Hilden B appeared to be heading for victory when ten shots up at 15 ends but they collapsed to a 28 shots defeat at home to Belmont D in Private Greens Division 5 on Saturday.

A four helped Max McClean to an 8-5 lead at the tenth and 11-9 at 15 ends but Hilden fell to a nine shots defeat.

A four and a five enabled Drew Harron to lead 13-7 at the tenth and a four gave Hilden a 20-10 advantage at 15 ends and they went on to win by nine shots.

Despite lifting two threes hugh Murray was 8-11 down at the tenth and 10-19 at 15 ends before losing by 14 shots.

Two threes enabled Robin Campbell to lead 12-5 at the tenth but it was 13-13 at 14 ends and Belmont went on to win by 14 shots.

Hilden B probably deserved more than half-a-point at home to Ewarts B in Private Greens Division 5 on Tuesday night.

Max McClean got the half-point but he was lying five at the last end only to lose the shot.

Hugh Murray was also lying game at the last bowl but lost by four shots.

Drew Harron only lost by two shots but Robin Campbell went down by nine shots.
