Hammy Loney’s Captain’s Lot posted 271 points to top the latest week of Winter League play around Tandragee.

The Hotstoves NI-sponsored competition featured club captain Loney as the leading scorer of the top team on 30 points.

James Magee’s Jimmy’s Jokers posted 265 points for second overall, with Ciaran Campbell on 30 to return the best individual score of the latest outing.

Gordon Little and Matthew Leckey guided, respectively, Gordon’s Golfers and Left To Righters to 263 points apiece for joint third.

The remaining running order featured One The Edge, VCZZ, The Veterans, Bandits Awareness, Airforce One, Dog Squad, Par Rangers, Up And Downers.

The weekly Winter League prizes went to: Hammy Loney (low section, 0-7 handicap) 30; Stephen McGarry (8-10 section) 32; Michael Quinn (11-13 section) 29; Stephen Henry (14-plus section) 32.

In the turkey competition, the winners were: Hammy Loney (0-7 section); Geoff Gray (0-7 section runner-up); Stephen McGarry (8-11 section); Joe Campbell (8-11 section runner-up); Gary McWhirter (12-plus section); Ashley McConville (12-plus section runner-up).

The ladies’ Winter League featured Dolores Hamill’s The French Hens first on 195 points. The Tandragee lady captain had Lavern Saunders and Liz Fleming to thank for leading the way on 21 apiece.

Vera Brady’s Swans A Swimming jumped three positions with 191 to sit second. Margaret Hendron posted 23.

Helen Fleming’s The Ladies Dancing finished on 183, followed by Lynn Moorhead’s Golden Rings with 168. The Maids A Milking, under Linda Weir’s guidance, finished on 152.

The weekly winners were: section one - 1, Margaret Hendron; 2, Lavern Saunders. section two - 1, Liz Fleming; 2, Liz Fyffe.
