Craigavon Cowboys will be hoping for a fun day on and off the field of play this weekend during the opening Irish American Football League fixture.

A family open day has been planned by club officials to raise awareness, with everyone welcome to Chambers Park from 12.30 on Sunday to enjoy the entertainment.

Attractions include face painting, a bouncy castle, balloon modellers, barbecue and ice cream van plus exhibitions by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and PSNI.

The main focus for Cowboys, of course, will be a first competitive fixture of the campaign following an intensive pre-season programme.

The game against Carrickfergus Knights will start at 1 o’clock.
