A section of the Tandragee 100 course has been named in memory of Dr John Hinds.

The ‘Doc John’s Rise’ is situated just before Castle Corner, with officials making the decision in tribute to the former ‘Flying Doctor’.

Dr Hinds, who sustained fatal injuries in an incident last year, was renowned for his dedication to providing world-class medical services.

“The Tandragee 100 was John’s favourite circuit,” said a spokesperson for the North Armagh Motorcycle and Car Club. “John’s partner, Janet, has fond memories of riding pillion.

“John had also already begun to campaign for a full air ambulance emergency medicine service for Northern Ireland before his untimely death.”

The club’s nominated charity for 2016 is The Air Ambulance NI in recognition of Dr Hinds’ commitment to improving medical services. Members are also encouraged to donate blood.
