The Edenvilla Park seniors proved too strong for the students and managed to shake off a sluggish start to break the deadlock off Gareth Titler’s determined play.
Portadown increased the pressure after the interval and Robbie Scott doubled the tally with a fine finish against his former club.
Adam Stevenson made it 3-0 then a Zach McClelland volley turned home a rebound, with Johnston capping the game’s most impressive move.
McClelland produced a composed finish to see off Raphoe with a last-gasp goal in an earlier round’s 3-2 triumph. Jamie Curran and Gregory Croft each found the net in the Raphoe result.
