Portadown’s Mark Heatrick proved in brilliant form around Ballymena Raceway to dominate the World Qualifying Series for National Hot Rods.
His clean sweep arrived despite a field that also featured the National, European and British champions.
The Birches’ Adam Hylands (European) was out to impress alongside Gary Woolsey (National) and Glenn Bell (British) from Portadown but Heatrick held the upper hand towards a maximum points return.
Heatrick claimed the heat double and took up a spot on the front row of the final grid alongside Woolsey.
Heatrick was also selected for the ‘Driver Of The day’ award and Hoosier Tyre prize sponsored by PC Paints and Components.
Ballymena will host the Stock Rods UK Masters across August 21 and 22.
Jordan Rochford from Portadown was the pick of the line-up around Tullyroan Oval in the Lightning Rods Car Culture Challenge Series.
Nigel Jackson, also from the area, was second in one heat and the final.
Stefan McClelland from Portadown claimed double heat success in the ProStocks and a final runner-up.
Racing will return to Tullyroan on Sunday, August 23 from 2 o’clock with the National Bangers.
